You don't want your personal information to fall into the wrong hands. Neither does SCSHP. When you visit scshp.com, we may collect and store information about your visit on an anonymous, aggregate basis. This information may include the time and length of your visit, the pages you look at on our site, and the site you visited just before coming to ours. We may also record the name of your Internet service provider. We use this information only to measure site activity and to develop ideas for improving our site.

There are also several opportunities on our web site for you to provide us with information about you and your interests, such as your name, mailing address and e-mail address. If you choose to share any personal information with us, we may store it and use it for marketing research and other marketing purposes, which may include sharing it* with other chapters in the ASHP family and our business partners. We will never sell your information to any other company.

Some of our web site may make use of "cookie" technology to measure site activity and to customize information to your personal tastes. A cookie is an element of data that a Web site can send to your browser, which may then store the cookie on your hard drive. So, when you come back to visit us again, we can tailor information to suit your individual preferences. The goal is to save you time and provide you with a more meaningful visit.

You take online privacy seriously, and so does SCSHP. It's our way of sustaining your trust in SCSHP and our services.

SCSHP reserves the right to alter our privacy principles as business needs require. Any alterations to these principles will be posted on our web site in a timely manner.

Additional Policies

Cookie Policy

Effective Date: May 20, 2025

Within your browser settings, you can choose whether to accept cookies. To access https://www.scshp.com, you are encouraged to enable cookies (which most browsers do by default). That way, we can remember you and tailor your experience to better suit your needs. If you are using Safari as your browser, you should also enable cross-site tracking by disabling the Prevent Cross-Site Tracking option.

You can also separately control whether to accept third-party cookies – cookies placed by third party services that are integrated into the website you are visiting. For example, third-party cookies are used by Google Analytics for tracking website traffic. You only need to enable third-party cookies only if you are using third-party services that require you to do so. By default, Safari and Internet Explorer block third-party cookies, while Firefox and Chrome accept them. However, Safari and Internet Explorer will allow users to accept cookies from SCSHP, and other sites. Some firewalls or browser plug-ins may affect your browser’s cookies settings.

A 2011 European Union privacy law requires websites to obtain consent from visitors before placing cookies on their devices. Since SCSHP does not serve EU customers, it does not need to comply with this law.

Terms of Use

The SCSHP website is available as a member service. In using the website, you agree to the following terms:

You are responsible for any content you post. Remember that, in some cases, postings may be made available to the public; do not post information you would like to keep private. Your name and the date will automatically be added to your posting.

You agree not to post any content that is defamatory, libelous, obscene, pornographic, or otherwise illegal.

You agree to be courteous, use respectful and nondiscriminatory language, and refrain from personal attacks.

You agree that you will not post content that infringes on intellectual property rights of another person or institution or content that contains computer code intended to damage any computer.

By posting information on this site, you grant SCSHP the perpetual right to use the information without limitation in any publication of the SCSHP, both electronic and print.

The opinions expressed in the site are those of the authors and do not necessarily reflect the opinions of SCSHP.

Refund/Cancellation Policy

Effective Date: May 20, 2025

Membership payments are not refundable. If a credit card is provided to automatically renew your membership, it must be cancelled through the website at least 7 days before your renewal date. If you cannot cancel your membership on the website, contact the SCSHP Office to assist.

Event Cancellations unless specifically stated on registration materials, the deadline to receive a refund for your registration is 9 business days before the event. Registration cancellations received prior to the deadline may be eligible to receive a refund less a 10% processing fee.  Cancellations within 9 business days will not be eligible for a refund unless specifically stated on registration materials. Cancellations will be accepted via phone, fax or e-mail, and must be received by the stated cancellation deadline.

Product returns are not accepted. All purchases of products (books, clothing, supplies, etc) are final.

Electronic Communications Policy

Effective Date: May 20, 2025

SCSHP will only send mass emails or text messages to customers or members who have provided explicit consent to receive such communications. Consent may be obtained through opt-in forms, account settings, or other consent mechanisms.

Content

Communications sent to customers or members will be clear, relevant, and respectful. They will provide value to recipients and adhere to SCSHP brand standards and messaging guidelines.

Frequency

The frequency of mass emails or text messages will be reasonable and aligned with the expectations of customers or members.

Opt-Out Mechanism

Recipients will be provided with a clear and easy-to-use mechanism to opt out of receiving further communications. Opt-out requests will be promptly processed, and recipients will be removed from future messaging lists.

Data Protection

Customer contact information used for mass emails or text messages will be handled in accordance with SCSHP privacy policy and relevant data protection regulations. Contact lists will be securely maintained and protected from unauthorized access or misuse.

Compliance

All mass emails or text messages will comply with applicable laws and regulations governing electronic communications, including but not limited to the CAN-SPAM Act and the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA).
